We may be able to send messages to one another in more ways and more quickly than ever before, but it's not clear to me that we're actually communicating better - more effectively, more clearly, more precisely.
One night, I sat down and elaborated what has been rolled up into a sound byte and served to empower some while alienating others. After a few days, and a few interactions with different people, having watched reactions, I modified it further. Sometimes it takes awhile to figure out how what we say is heard. When communication matters, the old advertising adage can be really off the mark. Sometimes less is just less. In the age of emojis, it might serve us well to sometimes actually use our words.
